    Notes:

The 1850 Census has Lewis being born in 1810. The 1860 & 1870 Census has Lewis being born in 1808. The 1880 Census has him being born in 1807

Although find a grave has Lewis having the middle name of Holland, I have yet to see documentation to prove this. If I find documentation to prove this, I will add it but, until then I am leaving it as is. In the time frame we are talking about, children very rarely had a middle name.

In the 1880 Census, Lewis is listed as having Rheumatism. This usually indicates a Rheumatic Fever and can include heart troubles. It apparently did not kill him at this time as he lived for another 18 years.

Rheumatic fever is a condition that can inflame or make the heart, joints, brain, and skin swell. Rheumatic fever is thought to be an immune response to an earlier infection. As the body's defense system, the immune system is important in fighting off infections.
