    According to a Descendants of Sarah E Cox and findagrave.com, John died on 26 November 1863 in Tennessee. I have no way of proving this at this point. Maybe eventually I will be able to do that.
    John's tombstone reads: Let us a monument raise in his name
    And free let our homage be given
    Let us pay the just tribute and then we shall have The smiles and blessings of Heaven."
    According to findagrave as well he was wounded at the battle of Missionary Ridge November 25, 1863.
