The 1910, 1920 Census has John listed as being born in 1858.

Although the death certificate states that John was born on March 8, 1857 the birth record states that he was born March 9, 1857. I choose to go with what the birth record states.

Although the birth certificate states Huston as the last name, the death certificate and stone state Hueston. The Hueston last name has been mis-spelled Huston through out the years. And although most of the records state F for his middle name, I am more inclined to go with the J as he is a Junior in his death certificate. The birth certificate looks like a J to me as well. The database for his marriage record also states the J as well. Need to get a copy of the marriage record as well to see exactly how it is.

Depending on what record you look at, John's last name is spelled all sorts of different ways. Houston, Huston, Hueston, etc.
Due to the death record say Hueston, I am going with that spelling due to the fact that his death was probably reported by the kids.
Also to note, is the different ages in the census records. 1815, 1819, and 1818. I choose to go with the age at death due to not have a birth record to go by. They did not start recording births until the early 1900's and unless i can find the Hueston bible, I can only go with what i see.
All census records indicate that John was born in Indiana but there is a Pennsylvania, U.S., Arriving Passengers and Crew Lists, 1800 - 1962 that lists a John Huston that was born in 1818. This could most likely be him. Which means the Hueston line could descend from Ireland.

Although John was born in Indiana, I think it is prudent to put the history I found on Gallatin County here as he married it Gallatin County and his children were born in Gallatin County. The information was found on Wikepedia.

Gallatin County is a county located in the northern part of Kentucky. The county seat is Warsaw. The county was founded in 1798 and names for Albert Gallatin, the Secretary of the Treasury under President Thomas Jefferson.
The county was formed on December 14, 1798. Gallatin was the 31st Kentucky cournty to be established. It was derived from parts of Franklin and Shelby County, Kentucky. Later, parts of Gallatin county were pared off to create three additional counties: Owen in 1819, Trimble in 1836 and Carroll in 1838. Today, Gallatin is 1/10 of its original size. Its northern border is the Ohio River.
Adjacent counties to Gallatin are Switzerland County, Indiana on the north, Boone County on the northeast, Grant County on the southeast, Owen County on the south, and Carroll County on the West.
My thought is that Switzerland, Boone and Grant are all Indiana Counties where Owen and Carroll are Kentucky counties. Most of the children ended up in Grant County. And John died in Boone Township in Madison County, Indiana. John's wife died in 1888 in Grant County. One of the children were in Madison County and that could be why John ended up passing away in Madison due to the fact that his wife Elizabeth died 9 years previously.

John married Elizabeth Jane Shafer on 14 May 1840 in Gallatin County, Kentucky, United States. There is a Margaret Kimes that is living within the household of Peter in 1880. At first glance you think that maybe Margaret is a nickname for Sarah. However, she is already married and within her own household with her husband. It could be their sons wife but, it definitely is not Sarah.

Although the family tree on familysearch.org states that Stephen's parents were Jacob Kimes and Catherine Thompson, I am not recording as they didnt get married until 1780. It is possible that they had a child that early however, i need more proof than a family tree as this doesn't seem likely.
It appears that in 1810 that Stephen most likely had his father living with him or this is someone completely different. Also according to the 1810 Census, Stephen and Sarah have one male child under 10 years old, one female child under under 10 years old.

The 1860 Census has Stephen being born in 1780

Stephen and Elizabeth were married in 1816. I only have Peter and Ephraim listed at this time because those are the only two that I can say for a fact that are most likely their children. I am sure there are more children and if you go to the familysearch.org to Stephen's family tree it shows the following children: Jonathan, Sarah, Minerva, Andrew, Lawson, Ephraim, and Peter. I cannot say for certain all the children listed are his children. Further research is needed to find this out. But it would make sense since there is 13 years from the time Stephen got married to when they had Peter and Ephraim.
