Robert Bailey and Matthew Wilson were in an altercation in 1852 that resulted in Matthew shooting Robert which ultimately cost Robert his life. I have not been able to locate anything on the shooting except one news article. There is nothing to indicate if Matthew Wilson was even charged with assault or murder.

It is assumed that Robert and Joanna were married on January 14th. The license was issued on the 13th and then signatures were done on the 14th on the bottom. One can only assume that is an accurate date for the wedding
