13002 The cemetery could be Concord Gates, Stanley Roe (I8918)

13003 The Census records also have births for Barbara as 1798 and 1800. Krady, Barbara (I22298)

13004 The census records are all over the place with John's date of birth. He is listed as being born in 1808, 1809, 1810 & 1811. All state the state of North Carolina.
There are indications that John was in the Confederate Army but am unable to see the document as it is on Fold 3 and I do not have a membership to Fold 3.
I do not know for a fact that John was born in Burke County, North Carolina but, it is on Find A Grave so I am recording it because it is plausible.

13005 The census records for Israel have his birth as 1829 and 1831 along with the date of September 1828. Gasho, Israel (I22299)

13008 The date of Sarah's birth is calculated on how old she was at death. Hall, Sarah Eliza (I23377)

13009 The death certificate for Lora Cook who was born in May 1906 and the s on of Samuel and Cora (Fryman) Green may be a mistake because I have h im as Luther in 1910 and he is listed in the 1920 census. This chil d would not be listed in the 1920 census if the death certificate wa s his because he would be deceased by this time because the date liste d for death is in 1912. Cook, Luther Jr. (I9683)

13010 The death date comes from the indexing of a death certificate. Its sa ys it is Lena, but when opening it, it is a different person and a mal e not a female. It also has a totally different last name. Cook, Lena F (I14245)

13012 The entry for Silas and Nancy's marriage does not have an exact document to see. Even the one that does have one is typed up so it is unclear weather it is correct or not. It also states that it is the marriage license and not the certificate. Hopefully, at some point I am able to locate this document and completely prove this Family: Silas Scott / Nancy Anderson (F4945)

13016 The following text was put on find a grave. There is no documentation for it to tell you what it is or if it is just what the person knows or thinks. Take it with what it is - undocumented and no proof.

Minnie E. Redden was born on 21 February 1868 in Stricklett, Lewis Co., Kentucky, daughter of Joseph D. Redden and Permelia Amelia Kissick. She was married to Alfred Allen Ackley, a funeral director who was born on 19 November 1866 in Wilmington, Ohio, son of Smith Ackley and Emily Hammond. They moved to Portsmouth, Scioto Co., Ohio, about 1923. Alfred died in Portsmouth from a cerebral hemorrhage on 11 October 1940. Minnie died from coronary sclerosis on 19 August 1947 in Portsmouth and was buried next to Alfred in Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. 13018 The Indiana Marriages, 1811 - 2019 does not have an image for the marriage record. It sounds right considering in the 1850 census they do not have children yet.
The following is the source that the entry shows:

"Indiana Marriages, 1811-2019", database with images, FamilySearch (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:ZYD7-JNZM : 3 August 2022), Michael S Mason, 1849.
Family: Michael S. Mason / Anna "Anne" Coleman (F5598)

13019 The last name for James was spelled Morning in the 1850 Census and Moren in the 1870 Census Moran, James A. (I6771)

13020 The last name is consistently misspelled. You will find it as Kelsay and Kelsey.

The obituary below was found on find a grave. How true or untrue is unknown at this time.

Services will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Sleeth Funeral Home, for Martin D. Kelsay, 93, of 734 Fair Ave., who died Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Major Hospital following several months illness.
He resided with his daughter, Mrs. Clarence Alexander of the Fair Ave., Address.
Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, with the Rev. Jack E. Jones officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home at any time.
Mr. Kelsay was a retired painting contractor, having been owner of the Kelsay Painting and Decorating Co., for 20 years.
A longtime resident of Shelbyville, Mr. Kelsay was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Born in Howard County Nov. 8, 1873, he was the son of Harvey and Elizabeth Kelsay.
On Nov. 6, 1895, he married Grace Smith, who died in December, 1960.
Surviving with the daughter here are five other children, Mrs. Raymond(Pearl)Eck and Russell Kelsay, Shelbyville; Orian Kelsay of Jackson Township, Mrs. Fred(Mary)House, Orlando, Fla.; and Mrs. Fayne(Ruth) McKelleb, Gas City; 18 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchilden.

Three children preceded in death.
Kelsay, Martin Daniel (I17420)

13021 The last name is spelled Kuffman in the 1850 Census. Kauffman, Frederick (I22310)

13022 The last name of this family is misspelled throughout the years. I prefer to go with what the marriage record of John and Sarah show. It is also spelled that way on the tombstone that they share together.
There is a George W Talbot born in 1846 in Indiana living in the household in 1860. How he is related, if at all is unknown at this time. It could just be a hired hand or he could have come on the wagon train and had no where to go so the family out of the goodness of their hearts let him stay with them.
In order to find this family in 1880 you will have to put the last name as Vanberthusan. They are living in Davis county, Iowa in 1880.
VanBenthuysen, John (I22727)

13023 The last name originated as Hambleton. I don't know if there was an actual name change or these people just gave up on correcting people with their last name. Hambleton-Hamilton, Earl Charles (I23265)

Leander N. Millspaugh, Pioneer Farmer Dies At Home Near Matthews
Leander N. Millspaugh, 72, a pioneer farmer of the county, died suddenly at his home three miles west of Matthews, at nine o'clock Sunday morning. Mr. Millspaugh had been in failing health for several years. Sunday morning he had gotten up and attended to his usual work, and was sitting in a chair reading, when he died. His wife noticed that his head had drooped and went to investigate the trouble, but found that he had passed away. He had been a resident of the farm he died on since his marriage. The deceased leaves a widow and two sons, Orley of Anderson and Arthur of Point Isabel. The funeral services were held at the home at one o'clock Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. L. W. Johnson and J. W. Richards officiating. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F Cemetery east of Matthews.
Millspaugh, Leander Newton (I19310)

13025 The marriage record for Edward and Gertrude has her middle initial as a V. According to the 1910 Census Gertrude is the mother of 3 children with only 1 living.
The 1920 & 1930 Census has Gertrude born in 1880
Pooler, Gertrude V. (I23766)

13026 The marriage record for Levi and Martha doesnt specifically state Bath County however this is attached to a page that does state that for another couple. Family: Levi Kerns / Martha Conyers (F2663)

13027 The marriage record for Orison and Margaret has Orison being born in 1831. It is also listing Orison as Orrison

In the 1860 Census Orison is listed as Arrison and he is also listed as being born in 1833. The 1900 Census has Orison being born in May 1838. In the 1910 Census he is listed as being born in 1833

Crawford, Orison T. Grant (I13944)

13028 The marriage record has Tabitha's name spelled Tabiatha Simpson, Tabitha (I15929)

13029 The marriage record i found only lists the Marriage License date and not the actual marriage date - that part of it is not filled out. One can assume is was either the 14th or 15th but without it being there i cannot record a date. Family: Frank Leroy Frame / Zora B. Bennet (F7144)

13030 The marriage record of Daniel and Harriett is recorded as happening in Clinton County, Ohio. Harriett was born in Ohio so this is possible. Their first child George was born in Indiana. I find it odd that they are residing in Clinton County, Indiana in 1850 but got married in Clinton County, Ohio.

Obituary:
Daniel L Rash died at 8 o'clock last night at the home of his daughter, Mrs William A Roberts, at the county farm. The infirmities of age was the cause of his demise. Deceased was born in Delaware on November 30, 1814, and came to Lafayette in 1836. For a number of years he was associated with the late William Shively in the tailoring business. After retiring from that business Mr Rash moved to Jefferson, Clinton county, where he lived for some time. He has made his home with Mr and Mrs Roberts for the past twenty years. He was a member of the Masonic fraternity, affiliating with the lodge at Linden. The following children survive: Mrs Emily Pixley, Warren E Rash and H. S Rash, of Linden: Perry Rash, a member of the National Soldiers' Home at Danville, Illinois; Ryan Rash, of Fithian, Illinois; M S Rash, of Los Angeles, California and Mrs W A Roberts and Miss Olive Rash, of this county. The funeral will be conducted to-morrow morning and the interment will be in the Abbott cemetery near Clark's Hill. (Lafayette Daily Courier,Thursday May 26, 1904)
Rash, Daniel L (I5570)

13031 The marriage record of Henry and Susan has Susan's last name as Lear but it is actually Leer. Leer, Susan E. (I23487)

13032 The marriage record states her name as Sadie. It is unknown weather the marriage record actually states this as i cannot view the marriage document Clements, Sarah E. (I2231)

13033 The Moses Saunders family is listed as Sanders in the 1850 Census. However, due to further research this family's last names is actually Saunders. Saunders, Moses (I8105)

13034 The obituary and tombstone has Leah passing on 11/27/1884. However, i think that the year is wrong due to the fact that Martin remarries to Cynthia Cochran on May 15, 1874. I think it would be more accurate that she died before this date as I don't believe he would marry a 3rd wife while the 2nd wife was still living. Also to note is he is listed in the 1880 Census with his third wife and Leah cannot be found in the 1880 Census. Upon further research, Leah's will is found. There is no mention of her husband in the will, just her daughter Mary. It is possible that her and Martin Divorced. A plat map locates her in Shelbyville in 1880 and the Will is dated for 1884. So the obituary and tombstone is most likely accurate.

IN MEMORIAM

Mrs. Leah Stephens died November 27th , 1884, at her residence near St. John's Switch, aged sixty-seven years, six months and sixteen days. The remains were interred in the family graveyard November 29th,1884. The deceased was born in Madison county, Kentucky, May 11, 1817. Her maiden name was Leah Parrish Her father, Edmund Parrish, moved from Kentucky to this county in 1823, and settled on Blue River, southwest of Shelbyville. He afterwards entered a tract of land near St. John's Switch, where he lived until his death. She, being the oldest of the family, was required to labor in and outdoors, which was the custom of the day. From youth she was a spiring, possessing the powers of acquisition by economy and perseverance in early life, she became the owner of real estate. She was twice married during life. For several years past the organs of the viscera had been afflicted and though able physicians were procured, temporary relief only could be given . Finally her disease became serious . No definite conclusion was given as to the character of her disease which was probably cancer of the stomach. To the day of her death she was patient in suffering, always extending her hand in friendship to her many friends. On various occasions she referred to the fact that the end was near at hand, but at the same time expressing her willingness to accept what the Lord in his infinite wisdom would send upon her. To her brother, to her daughter and to the one who held her dearer than all others, we would say in the language of Lowell : "Tis hard at first to see it alright, In vain Faith blows her trump to summon back Her scattered troop; yet through the clouded glass O four own bitter tears we learn to look, Undazzled on the kindness of God's face, Faith is too dark, and heaven alone shines through.
