      Death of Aged Citizen

      Lavina Burris, the oldest resident of Daviess County, died Sunday morning near Alfordsville. Funeral services were held at Old Union, conducted by the Rev. T.J. Alford. Interment at the Christian Cemetery Monday afternoon.

      Lavina Burris was born in Fleming County, Kentucky, 1813. She was married to Nicholas Baker March 14, 1832. Thirteen children were born to this union of whom two survive, Mrs. Hester Sullivan and Mrs. Amanda Goble , both residents of Reeve township. The deceased united with the Christian Church when she was six years old and has been a devout member till death.

      They removed to Daviess County in 1848, the deceased has spent sixty-eight years of her life in Reeve township.
