It is unclear who Jonathan's parents are. Some trees state that Jonathan is the son of Michael and Katharine (Hudlow) Shaffer. When I look for Michael Jonathan is not in the household with them. I would imagine sine Jonathan did not marry Martha Stover until 1862, he would be in the household with his parents, especially in the 1850 Census as he was only 12 at the time. Further research is necessary to determine who his parents are and if they are deceased, where he is at.
