  In the 1900 Census, Mary states that she is the mother of 11 children , with 9 of the children living. The dates of the children's births m ay be off some due to the fact that this census record is very hard t o read . Mary Jane is born in June 1858 in the 1900 Census, but her de ath certificate says she was born on October 17, 1859. Although it i s possible it is correct, I doubt that the year is correct since she i s older than her sister, Nancy.
