  According to the U.S., Federal Census Mortality Schedules, 1850-1885, Susan was born about 1827. The 1850 Census has her being born in 1828. On the mortality schedule, Susan's cause of death is listed as fits. It appears that may be a term used back then for epilepsy but I am unsure of that due to the way i researched it, that is the first thing that came up.
