Leander N. Millspaugh, Pioneer Farmer Dies At Home Near Matthews
Leander N. Millspaugh, 72, a pioneer farmer of the county, died suddenly at his home three miles west of Matthews, at nine o'clock Sunday morning. Mr. Millspaugh had been in failing health for several years. Sunday morning he had gotten up and attended to his usual work, and was sitting in a chair reading, when he died. His wife noticed that his head had drooped and went to investigate the trouble, but found that he had passed away. He had been a resident of the farm he died on since his marriage. The deceased leaves a widow and two sons, Orley of Anderson and Arthur of Point Isabel. The funeral services were held at the home at one o'clock Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. L. W. Johnson and J. W. Richards officiating. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F Cemetery east of Matthews.
