  Age Variation: Adam is listed as being born in 1827 in the 1850 Census, 1824 in the 1860 Census; 1814 in the 1880 Census Occupation: Adam is listed as a Blacksmith in the 1850, 1860, 1880 Census Notes: Adam has his nephew William Shoptaw living with him in the 1860 Census, he is 20 years old which makes him being born in 1840. Where Adam and his family is in 1870 is unknown. Most likely it is indexed incorrectly or his name is spelled incorrectly Although the gravestone appears to say Adam died in 1887 - with the newspaper article about the explosion it is verified that he died in 1886
