  Rachel is listed as Rachael in the 1860 Census. I have noticed in my research that Rachael and Rachel are interchangeable. Its up to each individual which one they make the name that they decide to use. Me, personally I use the one that is used most often, and if it is a tie I will use what is on the death certificate.
