  • Notes 
    • In the marriage record for Mary Ann and John Fletcher, Mary is listed as Mary Ann Holley. However, the consent to marry has her parents last name as Roberts.
      The 1860 Census has Mary listed as being born in 1830. The 1870 Census has her being born in 1831. The 1880 Census has Mary being born in 1833.

      The death records of the children differ in what Mary's last name is. Sarah Jane, Eliza C and Martha Lou's death certificate state that her last name is Holly/Halley whereas John Nelson, Addie's states Roberts. George's states Mariana Roberts. The marriage record stated her last name is Holley however, her parents are listed as Roberts. So I have decided to go with what the consent to marry states with her parents last name. It could be that she married previously or that her mother remarried after her father died.

      Upon further research, Mary's mother Sally married Phillip Roberts in 1839. Evidently Mary's biological father died when she was real young as Phillip and Sally married when Mary was only 6 years old . The marriage record for Phillip and Sally states that Sally's last name is Holly.
