    (Research):Harold W. Wadman, 86, New Castle (formerly of Knightstown),died Saturday in his home following a brief illness. Born May 12,1919 in Fountaintown, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Bessie(DeArmond) Wadman. H e retired from Whitco Corporation in 1983 after 20 years of service. He previously owned and operated the Sinclair Service Station in Knightstown. He had also worked at Rihm's Meat Market in Knightstown. He was a WWII veteran of the US Army Air Force, retiring from the Air Force Reserves as a Major. While in service, he flew B24s, B17s and B29 Bombers. He was an active member of the Knightstown Lion's Club and Spiceland Friends Meeting. He helped deliver Christmas gifts for the Knightstown Cheer Guild. He also enjoyed hiking, gardening and traveling. He is survived by daughters, Carol Ann (Pete) Sageser of Greensburg, Nancy Jane Wadman of New Castle; granddaughter, Mary Ann (Matthew)Frederick of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Lauren and Evan Frederick; brothers and sisters,Wayne (Sally)Wadman of Muncie, Helen (Paul) Morris of New Castle, Betty Copple of New Castle, Ronald Wadman of New Castle, Katherine(Jim) House of Bradenton, FL, Jerry (companion:Evelyn) of Wadman of New Castle; sisters-in-law, Martha (Bob) Sylvester of Bloomington, Gladys Wadman of Overland Park, KS, Juanita Wadman of Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Mary Jane(Street) Wadman; brothers, Gilbert Wadman Jr ., Fred Wadman; and sister-in-law, Caroline Peyton. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. today at Spiceland Friends Meeting until 11 a.m. services, Pastor Sid Martin and Jeff Hinshaw officiating. Military service will be conducted by the American Legion and VFW. Memorial contributions may be made to the South Henry Dollars for Scholars or Spiceland Friends Meeting Building Fund. Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
